Being Black in AmeriKKKa is like living in the “Twilight Zone”. Up is down… Down is up…Good is bad… Bad is good… Positive is negative… Negative is positive. No place but in the Black community is ignorance and culturally degenerative behavior not only accepted, but embraced with open arms.
No other people on the planet expect for the lives of themselves and their progeny to be provided for by others; by not owning or creating their predominate employment, not growing their own food, clothing and shelter, but being the “ultimate consumer”. That is one who only purchases or consumes from others, creating NOthing (or at least nothing of worth or value) expecting to be cared and provided for by the benevolence and generosity of others. Meanwhile, others come here from all over the world and have a business set-up for themselves and theirs in little or no time, while we have been here for more than 400 years and are still begging from the master’s table to provide the scraps that are just enough to get and keep us firmly in debt.
Intelligence, character, honor, integrity, time-value is looked down upon while mass consumption and ignorance run amuck. Intelligence, reading and education (especially by the males of the species) is looked down upon and considered “being White” or “soft” while the pursuit of derogatory behavior is celebrated and relished. Fidelity, character are chastised and apparently something of the past. Our foundation and one of the few things that we did have has disintegrated and the ripple effect of “men” not being there to protect, support and nurture their families are the primary reasons for this breakdown. If Caucasians did to us what we allow ourselves to do in every “urban” neighborhood on a daily basis we would be up-in-arms, marching, protesting and singing “We Shall Overcome” and calling upon the services of Reverend Al Sharpton or Reverend Jessie Jackson to defeat the mighty beast of injustice.
Also, any sane, “normal” group of people would not settle for attempting to assimilate and expect to have their livelihoods provided for them by their former slave masters... Tell me; with (2) equally qualified candidates why should a privately owned company be forced to hire someone who doesn’t look like them and put them into positions of power when they have their qualified offspring who they may have been grooming since birth and sent to college to obtain an M.B.A., law degree, etc. to come back and to use their newly found prowess for the good of the family business. Included in that group would be other family members, fraternity brothers, or others that they may feel more comfortable and familiar. I may allow you to be a minion, or to do some other low-level job, but when it comes to meaningful jobs I can understand the “glass ceiling” mentality of cronyism and nepotism, which may fit into the category of Social Darwinism on some level. Why would any sane person expect otherwise, when one has the same opportunity to do the same (although our predecessors are working with a head start of 400 years of free labor to assist them in their pursuit of capitalism). While obviously we are not there, that should be our collective goal… to be “free” in the truest sense of the word and the only thing that that translates into in the twenty-first century being financially free which is the last bastion of “freedom”.
You receive in life what you expect, so if foolishness, deviant behavior are what you allow and expect, that is exactly what you will receive and what we have been allowing to occur… A culture of ignorance.
